IV. Treasurer's Report
Submitted by Bill Beintema on July 6, 2000 As of July 6, we have $3,141.14 in the treasury. 2000 Dues received totals $780.00. We donated $500 to SEAALL for the 2000 SEAALL Annual Meeting in Puerto Rico.

V. Membership Report No report.

VI. Nominations Committee Report - Pauline Aranas

Committee members were Trish Cervenka, Reba Best and Steve Hinckley. Trish Cervenka sent the slate of nominations to Secretary Nancy Strohmeyer via email on February 16, 2000. The slate included Jack Bissett from Washington and Lee University for Secretary and Pamela Melton from the University of South Carolina for At-Large Board Member.

VII. Election Report - Nancy Strohmeyer

Forty-five ballots were mailed on February 24, 2000, and twenty-four were returned by the March 17 deadline. The election was not contested, so both nominees were elected.

VIII. New Board members were announced. Their terms begin at the close of the General Business Meeting.

IX. Old and Continuing Business

A. Consortium Agreements

YPB - Ann-Marie Breaux sent Pauline the mid-year sales analysis. There was an increase in sales. Pauline said that we should see how the whole year sales go; if they continue to increase we may be able to increase our discount in renegotiation. Our current contract ends in 2003 and includes a 15.5% discount and free shipping.

CIS - Pauline will announce at the Business Meeting that the invoicing will remain the same and that CIS is adding Statutes-at-Large to the Universe.

B. SEAALL Meeting

1. Program - Mary Lou Corbett

Program B-1, "Out with the Old and In with the New? Policies for Superseded Materials," was suggested by COSELL. It resulted from the Technical Services Roundtable.

2. Donation - Pauline Aranas

We received a letter from SEAALL President Steven Hinckley acknowledging and thanking us for our donation of $500 to the Annual Meeting. The donation was made in our continuing effort to remain a good citizen of SEAALL.

C. COSELL Web Update - Pauline Aranas

1. Board liaison Current liaison Anne Klinefelter is leaving the Board because her term ends after the Business Meeting. Mark Bernstein has agreed to serve as the new COSELL Board liaison.

2. Content Mark will check for updated content. Pauline suggested adding an historical listing of past COSELL presidents at least, or all officers if possible. She will see if Bill Beintema has this information or if the old minutes are archived somewhere. Mark will also survey COSELL libraries to see if they already have their collection development policies online. If so, we could add a link to the policies on the web page.

D. Strategic Plan Review - Pauline Aranas

Pauline suggested the Board should review the Strategic Plan from time to time to ensure it remains current. Mary Lou Corbett and Rebecca Trammell volunteered to review the Plan.

X. New Business

A. Roundtables 2000 - Pauline Aranas

This year, the Board changed to a topical approach for the Roundtables. The leaders this year are Anne Klinefelter, Teaching Legal Research; Janet Sinder, Webmasters/Web Design; Corrine Jacox, Technical Services; and Ed Edmonds, Collection Development. The Board decided to keep the topical approach for at least one more year to see how well it works. Pauline will request a written summary from the four leaders.

B. SEAALL/SWALL 2001 - Pauline Aranas

Herb Cihak is Program Chair for the combined meeting in 2001. We hope to have a member of the COSELL Board on the Program Committee to serve as liaison between the two.

C. Other Projects?
Pauline will ask for suggestions at the Business Meeting. Ideas may also spring from the Roundtable discussions.

XI. The meeting was adjourned at 3:55 p.m.
